Yoga

Yoga is the science of physical and emotional alignment and consists of 8 parts or limbs. Asana, posture practice, is one of these eight limbs and the one we focus on most during our classes. Remember that there is for everyone a specific yoga sequence that enhances your physical and emotional needs. We just need to figure out together how that sequence looks like!

The Yoga style we are trained in is an effective mixture between Ashtanga Vinyasa and Iyengar Yoga. Ashtanga is a dynamic style that focuses on increasing your mobility, flexibility, balance and strength. Iyengar concentrates on proper physical alignment by using specific props such as blocks, belts and bolsters. By combining these two styles, you reduce, for instance, stress and anxiety, increase (core) strength, heal and avoid injuries, and counter sports (soccer, volleyball, martial arts…) and damaging postures such as sitting behind a desk for many hours.

Asana practice moves the body in 3 dimensions. In this way the body is opened up in ways that are natural and healthy but due to our lifestyle often not practiced enough.

We are certified Kidding Around Yoga (KAY) Kids Yoga teachers and introduce your kids in a playful way in the world of Yoga.
